Freak Snow came a calling

Look at what so waiting for me me when i woke up today. It was snowing quite heavily the night before, but I didnt expect it to continue snowing till the morning. Snow was like 3-4 inch thick and I had trouble going for my 830 class. Not that I am complaining, haven't seen snow falling so beautifully since i came here. It was amazing.

It continue to snow HEAVILY throughout the morning and early afternoon. So the 3 of us decided to fine a secluded place behind some residences to build our snowman! We had loads of fun making snowballs and throwing at each other, rolling balls of snow... (oh i skip the afternoon class to build my snowman)...

I think i will enjoy it while it last... I was told that such heavy snow occurs only like once every 3 years... cool eh..

Porridge

Not feeling too well lately, so decided to spare my throat and stomach by cooking some porridge for myself. Managed to find some ginger yesterday in TnT supermarket, so ginger porridge it shall be.

Was cooking the porridge halfway, and decided that ginger porridge will probably taste too bland. Took out some pork from the freezer and threw it into the pot (w/o defrozing). Added some salt, sesame oil, egg and soya sauce. Turn out to be pretty good. I would give it a 6/10. =)

Shopping!

Ok, Vancouver is really starting to get really boring. We need to get our ass outta this island. The shops close at 7pm on weekdays and 4pm on weekends. There is simply nothing to do here! I miss the night life in Singapore. =(

Anyway did some groceries shopping. Found this HUGE supermarket (called SuperStore) about 1 hr bus trip away from UBC. Prices there are comparable to those found in Singapore. So we really shop quite alot there! yippie.

The last picture below is what I shopped for today. Cost me only 18 Cad (25sgd)...really proud of myself to get such a good deal!

Grouse Mountain & Granvillie Island

Its quite a while since I blogged. More lazy than anything. This weekend is pretty cool, I went to Grouse Mountain for SNOWBOARDING and Granvillie Island for some shopping and sightseeing. I tell you what. Everyone, I mean Everyone should go ski-ing and snowboarding once in their lifetime. Its so fun and I am already addicted.

Its not too expensive I guess. About 100 Cad for a whole day up there. I totally enjoyed myself together with Eric, Eileen and Kanxing. There was snow everywhere and I was like in some hollywood dreamland. It was just amazing. I have to thank Eric for pushing me to try the harder gradient, if not I would have miss some of the most amazing snow slopes ever.

I caught a cold there however, not feeling too well lately, but I guess the fun is all worth it. I didnt take too many pictures there, most are with Eileen and Kanxing.. will post when I get my hands on them. Grouse Mountain Rocks!
